Experience
Lydia’s practice focuses on both Business & Corporate Law and Trusts & Estates at Hutchinson Black and Cook, bringing with her more than 17 years of legal experience prior to joining the firm in 2022. Lydia worked in private practice at firms in Denver and Boulder and spent over a decade as an in-house attorney, most recently working at a $12 billion global information technology company. Her practice at Hutchison Black and Cook includes both estate planning and providing advice to companies on a wide variety of matters.
In her estate planning practice, Lydia provides counsel on estate planning, marital agreements, and probate and trust administration. She enjoys working with a variety of clients, including families with young children, blended families, and individuals holding businesses and real estate in their estate, leaning on her years of practice as corporate counsel.
She also advised businesses on such areas as business formation, real estate transactions and leases, technology agreements, contract negotiations, corporate governance, business reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions. She enjoys acting as ‘general counsel’ for her clients, drawing on her many years of experience as in-house counsel. Informed by years of working with businesses, her approach is to provide practical legal advice that accounts for the realities of operating a business within the confines of the law. Her goal is to always give her clients efficient and practical business solutions.
Lydia grew up in Gates Mills, Ohio, on the east side of Cleveland and attended Miami University (Ohio) for her undergraduate degree in Finance. She moved to Colorado in 2000 and graduated from the University of Colorado’s law school in 2005. Lydia lives in Lyons, Colorado and enjoys spending time skiing, biking, reading novels, gardening, and taking her two children to soccer games and other activities.
