Experience

With a deep commitment to advocacy and a passion for empowering others through the law, Clarice Tenorio is dedicated to helping individuals navigate complex legal challenges. Her journey into law began during her studies in political science and psychology when an internship with the New York Legal Aid Society opened her eyes to the impactful work of providing legal assistance in pro bono divorce cases. This experience led her to a receptionist and paralegal role at a small family law firm in Long Island, New York, where she solidified her commitment to the legal profession.

A first-generation American fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Clarice has a special connection to immigrant communities. Throughout her legal career, she has prioritized volunteer work for immigrant clients, honoring her roots and using her skills to support those navigating the legal system.

During her time at the University of Colorado Boulder Law School, Clarice served as an executive board member of the Latin Law Students Association, advocating for representation and connection within the Hispanic legal community. She held roles as a 1L student liaison and the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association Student Representative, amplifying the voices and concerns of fellow law students. Clarice also interned for Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix at the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and was actively involved in the Colorado Law Immigration Clinic, working on DACA renewals, work authorization applications, and family-based applications for permanent residency.

Additionally, she contributed to the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Program, teaching high school students about the legal system and guiding them through moot court competitions. As a member of the Colorado Law Technology Journal and a legal writing teaching assistant, she further honed her skills in legal analysis and mentorship.

Clarice first joined as a summer associate in 2022 and 2023, primarily focused on general civil litigation, with a strong emphasis on civil rights, sexual assault survivor cases, and immigration work. Now as a practicing attorney at HBC, she is building her career with a focus on civil rights, sexual assault survivors’ rights, and immigration, while also expanding her practice into employment law and construction cases.

Outside of her legal practice, Clarice enjoys live music, yoga, cooking, biking, and skiing. She shares her free time with her partner and their miniature dachshund.
