HBC is proud to be a principal sponsor of the reception following the World IP Day 2014 event in Boulder, Colorado. World IP Day is a celebration intended to promote discussion of the role of intellectual property (IP) in encouraging innovation and creativity, created and promoted in the United States as a joint effort of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and the Copyright Society of the U.S.A.
For 2014, the World IP Day theme is "Movies - A Global Passion." The Colorado Bar Association will host an event at the Cinemark Theater in Boulder from 2-6 PM on Wednesday, April 23, which will feature HBC entertainment and IP attorney Justin C. Konradspeaking about IP in the movies. Other speakers at the event will include Donald Zuckerman (Colorado Film Commissioner), Gary Sharp (Chief Technology Officer at RealD), and a panel of award-winning filmmakers and producers. A reception will follow at Cantina Laredo, sponsored by HBC. The event is free and open to the public, and 4 CLE credits have been applied for.
